Harmless Practical Jokes

The funniest practical jokes are the harmless practical jokes. They are the ones that make you laugh without causing any harm to the person the joke was played on.

For instance when I was a lad I used to go camping with the boys brigade, it's a bit like the boy scouts, every year. At the end of the camp we had an event that took place in the evening where we had to try and capture a camp from the officers. Anyway all of us newbies to the camp were told by the officers at the beginning of the week to make sure that we hadn't forgotten our "sky hooks".

Now all of us newbies started panicking because we did not have a clue what a "sky hook" was. Every day the officers and the older boys of the camp kept mentioning these "sky hooks" and every day we kept getting more and more worried, what the hell are "sky hooks" and where can we buy them. When the day came of this event where we needed the "sky hooks" us newbies are sitting around the camp fire waiting for the officers to have a go at us because we did not have our "sky hooks". That's when the officers turned around to us and said how can you hook anything to the sky and when we all felt mighty relieved and saw the funny side of the joke.

So you see this was a harmless practical joke played on us by the officers who had a great laugh on it all week. Looking back on it now I have to laugh about it because I can see the funny side us newbies not realising that there was no such thing as a sky hook.

There are lots of other harmless practical jokes that you can play on people from your traditional whoopee cushion to the modern toilet monster. All of these are fun and are perfectly harmless to the individual receiving them, though at the time they probably do not think it is funny.
